More From NORWELD
Drupal at NORWELD
Drupal is an open source web site publishing framework, distributed under the GPL (“General Public License”) that allows easy publishing, managing and organizing of a wide range of content. Thousands of people and organizations are using Drupal to power a variety of web sites, including community web portals, corporate web sites, social networking sites, personal web sites or blogs, and more.

NORWELD has been working with a number of our regional libraries to develop Drupal web sites that will make it easier for libraries to maintain their content, while implementing more Library/Web 2.0 capabilities than ever before. NORWELD has developed a Drupal training workshop, to facilitate site transition and updating. New Workshops TBD

Do you know the turnover rates of your print and non-print collections? Turnover rates can help you determine how well used any given collection is and suggest what collections may need added to, weeded or even discontinued.
I am attending the OLC Conference in Toledo this week. I have attended some great sessions and have picked up a lot of information I will be sharing over the coming weeks. Here is a laundry list of some of the ideas for libraries I picked up here in the first two days:
Creating small meeting spaces for students or others who want to collaborate on a project or for those who do their work in the library and need a place to plug in and spread out a lilttle.
Archiving your community - collecting objects, pictures, and stories from community members to share at the library
NORWELD'S mission is to help our member libraries be the best they can be - by providing services that help you, your library staff and your library grow!
With this blog, I hope to plant the seeds for new ideas; new service delivery methods; new books from the profession and elsewhere and sometimes just seeds for thought. I may also use this space to share information about what is happening at NORWELD and around the region.
